DTN Weekly Average DDG Price Slightly Lower
DTN's weekly average spot price for domestic distillers dried grains is
slightly lower versus one week ago.

MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains
(DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended May 29 was down $1 on
average versus one week ago at $153 per ton.
DDG prices were mixed for the week, but down $1 on average with the cash
corn price lower versus last week and meal prices flat so far this week. DTN
National Average Corn Index is down 16 cents versus one week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative
to corn for the week ended May 29 was 0.956%. The value of DDG relative to
soybean meal was 51.62% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.67
compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.24.
U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles
(DDGS) June export market prices report, showed as of May 29, CIF NOLA barge
price was down $13 at $210 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was up $2 at
$236 mt; rail delivered PNW was down $5 at $245; and rail delivered to
California was down $3 at $242 mt. A trader noted that the tariffs are starting
to affect DDGS export sales.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday that for the
week ended May 23, overall ethanol production in the United States averaged
1.056 million barrels per day (bpd), up 20,000 bpd week-on-week and 12,000 bpd,
or 1.1%, lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at
1.026 million bpd was 13,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest
ethanol production averaged 999,000 bpd, up 19,000 bpd week-on-week and 8,000
bpd, or 0.8%, lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average output
at 970,000 bpd was 10,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
